I. Project Background

    ASIA SYMBOL (Shandong) Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. constructed a municipal wastewater reuse treatment workshop in November 2013 with a designed treatment capacity of 40,000 m³/day. The workshop is equipped with six ultrafiltration (UF) sets, each consisting of 84 UF membranes, with each set of UF membranes capable of producing 317 m³/h of water. The influent water comes from the treated effluent of the third wastewater treatment plant in Rizhao City and the second wastewater field, which meets the discharge standards.
    The effluent from the third wastewater treatment plant and the second wastewater field in Rizhao City is pumped to the incoming water tank through pipelines. The water from the incoming water tank is filtered through a self-cleaning filter before entering the ultrafiltration membrane set. A flocculant (PAC) is added before the ultrafiltration feed pump, and it is dosed according to the operational conditions.
    In December 2018, the original Yinge brand was replaced with four sets of brand Pentair internal pressure ultrafiltration membranes, which use dead-end filtration. After five years of operation, the performance of the membranes declined, and the quality of the produced water exceeded the standards, necessitating replacement.

    After fierce competition and selection, ASIA SYMBOL (Shandong) Pulp & Paper chose Yingpu Environment's Tianzhen-Inge internal pressure ultrafiltration membranes out of trust in quality. We replaced four sets, totaling 320 ultrafiltration membrane elements for them. The replacement model is TianZhen-Inge® 0.9 MB 80 ST, which uses dead-end filtration, and we also made certain modifications and optimizations to the original ultrafiltration system.
